Exams are round the corner... the first one starting this saturday... this is my last set of exams for this degree... Hopefully will get through all with good results...
After this, will be graduating... the official graduation ceremony is next year round end of march or early april... high possibility of it falling on my birthday!! hehe... after that, i'm planning to do Honours... Bachelor of Appllied Science (Industrial and Applied Mathematics) (Honours)...
Anyway, that's about my "studies" plans...
About me... hehe... well, lately i've started accepting myself for who i am... no matter what, i'm me... have been struggling a lot with myself all this while, but finally accepting myself more nowadays... It makes me a lot happier... hehe... been rejecting myself eversince in high school... but finally starting to accept myself... it suddenly seems to me like life is full of meaning again... was soo tired of trying to live up to certain standards, living up to ppl's expectations of me... so tired of fighting myself... but now i've finally stop doing so...
I'm still the same me... but i've just learnt to accept the other side of me... hence, to those who will not accept me for my other side, then maybe you weren;t my friend all the while becos the person you thought you were friend with did not exist... but to those who know what i'm talking about and accepted me... thank you! trully appreciate it very much! i feel lighter, not having to carry the burden any longer... which is a really really good feeling... =D So to the ppl who will or have accepted me, *HUGS*
anyway, enough of that... have been really into this song... Suddenly I fell soo in love with this niiicceee song! it's called 勇气 (courage) by 梁静茹 (fish leong). The lyrics are as below:
勇气(Courage)
终于作了这个决定
Finally made this decision
别人怎么说我不理
I don't care what others will say
只要你也一样的肯定
As long as you are certain
我愿意天涯海角都随你去
I'm willing to follow you to the ends of the earth
我知道一切不容易
I know it is not easy
我的心一直温习说服自己
I try to persuade myself
最怕你忽然说要放弃
I scared that you will give up
Chorus:
爱真的需要勇气
Love needs courage
来面对流言蜚语
To face the rumours
只要你一个眼神肯定
Just a affirmation from you
我的爱就有意义
My love for you will be meaningful
我们都需要勇气
We both need courage
去相信会在一起
To believe that we can be together
人潮拥挤我能感觉你
So that I can feel you in the crowd
放在我手心里
Put in my heart
你的真心
Your sincerity
Bridge:
如果我的坚强任性
If my headstrong attitude
会不小心伤害了你
Accidentally hurt you
你能不能温柔提醒
Can you gently tell me
我虽然心太急
Although I am very anxious
更害怕错过你
But I'm more afraid of losing you
That's just a very rough translation... But you should understand what the general meaning of the song is lar... I really liked it because it's so true!
That;s all for this post...
***EDIT: I think blogdrive doesn't support chinese characters... (stupid blogdrive)... I spent so long typing up the lyrics, then cannot display... >.<" Anyway, the title of the song is "yong qi" in mandarin or "yong hei" in cantonese... means courage in english... the song by fish leong... i think it was famous a while back in msia... ***

Finally... after a very very very loooong time of not posting anything...
So this post is gonna highlight very briefly about what's been happening to me... been back to uni for 8 weeks, after trip to msia... pretty dull stuff... doing the same thing week in week out... meeting up with Xin, Ju-Lear, Sabrina and Will...
On Merdeka day, we had a merdeka gala dinner here in Adelaide... got free tix thanks to Ju-Lear... went to the dinner with Xin... it was ok... for a few moments thought I was back in msia... can say it's the most eventful merdeka i've ever had in my life... lol...
Then in September, month of baby boomers... gone broke with sooooooo many ppl's birthday... first bday celebrated was Ju-Lear jie jie's bday... made a nice lil prezzie for her as it's near impossible to get her something becos she has everything... lol... Xin and me cooked lunch for her... we cooked "mee suah"... it's kinda like a symbolic meaning for longetivity... Hokkien tradition... then we went out for dinner at Gouger palace restaurant... had a great day...
then it was Sabrina's bday the following week... we celebrated her bday by having lunch at Kowloon restaurant... Ju-Lear baked a tiramisu cake for her... it's soo sweet... summore got wordings on it... we bought a lil cow soft toy for her... which she christened "Bill" to represent her bf Will... hahaha... so cute...
then we've got 2 weeks break... been doing nothing much really... except waking up late, watching series and movies like nobody's business... going online...
on 25th Sept, it was Mooncake festival, so invited Xin, Sabrina, Will and Mabel over for dinner and we carried lanterns... had mooncakes my mum made... was fun... wind was soooooo strong, our lanterns were lying horizontal! Xin's soo funny, she's like carrying a butterfly net... haha...
Ooi Jin came down from Sydney to Adelaide last weekend... so I took him around Adelaide city, then the next day we went to Glenelg beach... Wind was soooo strong, my glasses got blown away! pathetic! Xin and me were looking for it all around glenelg, cannot find... prolly crushed into smitherins... so quickly got her mum (thank u sooo much!) to order a new one from the optical shop in DJ and passed it to Xin's housemate Keth Lyn to bring it over for me! it was really fast, Fri lost, ordered on Fri, Keth Lyn came back on Sunday and i got new glasses! summore look sooo like my old one... hehe... Xin's mum got great taste! lol... neway, wanna say thanks to Xin, her mum and Keth Lyn for all the trouble that they've gone through!
uni restarted the tuesday that just passed... am still in holiday mode... no motivation to do anything, assignments piling up... still watching series, sleeping late, waking up sleepy etc... worst of all, this is my final semester, must pass! must graduate! stress...
so yea... that's a very very brief update of what's been going on in my pathetic life... hehe...
not sure when will be my next update... anyway, good series to watch: "Colourful Life" (prolly most of u watched it b4 if u got Astro...), "Monkey King, Quest for the Sutra" is ok... not the best... but ok... currently watching "Proud Twins" starring Jimmy Lin and Tae Sattawat Setthakorn... both lookalike... not too bad la... but if u like watching leng chais, this is the show for u...
that's bout it lar... series i'm planning to watch are "Survivor's Law", "The Academy", "Duke of Mount Deer" older version, not Dicky Cheung wan, and "Tian Xia Wu Shuang" or Cantonese: "Tin Ha Mou Sheung" with Dicky Cheung... hopefully got time la...
any nice series pls recommend!! ^_^

Got tagged by Ping (long long ago), so here goes...
6 Weird Things About Me:
- I always use my fingernails as "scissors" especially if say my lips are dry and peeling, I'll use my fingernails to cut away the dry skin instead of peeling it away... or if at the side of my fingernails got like skin peel, i cut it away with my fingernails...
- Whenever I'm being lectured or scolded or even when I am walking on the street alone, as long as my mind is idle, there always is a tune in my head playing and my fingers will automatically move as though I'm playing it on the piano... I dunno why, but it just happens...
- I wear shorts and slippers and walk around during winter here in adelaide...
- I refuse to fall asleep at night till about 12am or 1am... I find it not nice... unless i'm really tired...
- I feel reallly sleepy during the day but extremely awake at night... nocturnal some people may call it...
- I can pass time by sitting in front of the piano thinking of what to play (means i'm not playing anything except for simply pressing keys here and there)
This is sooo hard... i can't even think... people to tag: bonnie, sherry, xue, and yi man.

yes... finally! another update! haha...
well, as you all know by now that I was a
receipient of the
International Centre of Excellence for Education in Mathematics, and the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute summer vacation scholarship. This was because I was
nominated by my Uni as an
outstanding 2nd year student! hahaha... it's usually for 3rd or 4th year students who intends to do Honours... For the sake of easy writing, I shall use their
acronym, ICE-EM/AMSI. So yes, I was the
only person in my uni who was nominated for this scholarship. It's a summer vacation scholarship. I basically have to do a research project for 5 weeks where they'll pay me
$350 per week and the last 2 days, I'll
go over to Sydney to do my oral presentation. FYI, the
Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) also had their own set of students to whom they also offer this vacation scholarship, but theirs are a little different to mine.
My topic was
Real Options Approach to Evaluating Capital Investment Decisions. If u're really interested, u can check out the link later when they've actually put up my report on the ICE-EM website which is currently still not available yet.
Well, thanks to my supervisor, Dr. Malgorzata Korolkiewicz from UniSA, I completed my research successfully. Check out this site.So what happened then? On Valentine's Day, it was the eve before I fly to Sydney... I was so excited... and also worried in case I left anything behind... haha... slept at 11pm that night and woke up at 4am next morning... can't even sleep... neway, the flight was at 6am... flew to Sydney, arrived at 8.25am... Had breakfast in the plane... So after arriving, the coach bus picked us up to send us to the hotel,
Stamford Grand North Ryde. Traffic jam!! Like a typical msian traffic jam, just not as bad as KL lar... but
traffic jam!! in Aus!! well, my first impression of Sydney was KL! from complicated roads, flyovers and highways to sky scapers! neway, arrived at North Ryde, again, had breakfast! then introduction session began... all the CSIRO staff members were promoting CSIRO... well, i must say,
CSIRO seems a very good place to work in... after about 4 hours, lunch... buffet lunch... food was ma-ma-dei only... after lunch,
my presentation is due! I was first on the list... which is good and bad lar... good in the sense, I'm the first to get rid of the pressure, bad is, well, I'm first in the list... if u know what i mean! haha...
well, after about another 4 person talk, then afternoon tea... I was bloated by then... neway, fyi, there are 4 rooms altogether, so there are 4 parallel sessions going on at the same time as there were 80 students altogether...
after afternoon tea, sessions continue... and two hours later, bout 6pm, it ended... we've got one hour to check in (so u can guess, we were carrying our baggages around the whole day!), bathe, and to walk to macquarie shopping centre for dinner... food were all provided btw... dinner at 7pm... it was a good thing i didn't took any afternoon tea, as i was still full when dinner came... haha... well, they even provided alcohol... but me guai chai lar... so din took any... hahaha...
dinner was ok... i can say nicest food amongst all the other meals... hehe... met a few new people in dinner... got some
great advice from CSIRO staff members... I left dinner half an hour early... cos I promised to
meet up with Ooi Jin... and it was geting kinda late...
like 9pm or later d... so caught the public bus... without really knowing exactly where to stop... really brave man... come to think of it... haha... but yea, luckily
Ooi Jin came on the same bus when it passed his suburb... we
passed the Sydney Harbour bridge while on the way to city...reach sydney... walked around this place called
The Rocks, the first settlement in Sydney... then to the
Opera House... walk around it... then went to
Darling Harbour... quite a bit of a walk... but we managed... or I managed... haha... I was actually carrying my heavy laptop all around Sydney!! can't leave it unattended in the hotel room mar... so went to Darling Harbour and had iced chocolate at Lindt's chocolate cafe!! yum! i reckon Lindor Lindt produces the best chocolate in the world!! it's from switzerland if i'm not mistaken... and the only 2 cafes in the world are at Sydney...
we finished jalan-ing sydney at about 11.45pm or so and went to
Queen Victoria building to catch the
last bus back to the hotel
at 12.10am! haha... reached hotel about almost 1am... hehe... Ooi Jin got down earlier from the bus lar... cos his place nearer to the city mar...
reach hotel, sleep... woke up early next morning... 6am woke up d... got ready went
for breakfast... buffet breakfast... after that check out hotel... those talks still going on... then got morning tea, talk, lunch, talk, and afternoon tea then conclusion of the whole event... gosh, if there's one thing really good about the organising, it's the food... they made sure we never go hungry! hahaha... but the thing is, we're getting too full! lolz... at 4pm, we left for airport...
reach airport at 4.45pm... my
flight oni departs at 8.45pm!! 4 hours to wait!!! check in and wait with other people from the same event... they also had to wait for so long... so we ended up playing cards in the airport whilst passing time...
bought some Krispy Kreme doughnuts, recommended by Ooi Jin to be very nice... hmm... finally borded the plane for adelaide...
sad, i kinda start to
like sydney more than adelaide d! hahahaha... while taking off, i saw the harbour bridge and the opra house soo clearly!! gosh, gonna miss that place... hopefully one day will go there again... maybe work there or sumthing lar... it's
the best Aus substitute of KL... the good thing about travelling at night is, u can clearly see the outline of the metropolitan areas... like when i was about to touch down at adelaide, i could see the whole adelaide metropolitan area where the lights were so bright... so i can guess which place is which...
arrived safely home... though it's exactly one week now, i'm still
missing last week experience! haha... time always flies when u're having fun... before diverting to another topic,
i would sincerely like to thank ICE-EM/AMSI and CSIRO for giving me this opportunity to undertake the vacation scholarship and to go to Sydney for the first time ever in my life... And also to University of South Australia for nominating me! Also to my supervisor Dr. Malgorzata Korolkiewicz and last but not least Ooi Jin for bringing me around Sydney... Thank you very much!!ok... arrived home, then next day, clean house for
Chinese New Year! Dear Xin came over to my place on CNY day and we had lunch... after that, she taught us how to play
mahjong! haha... then at night i went to her place and had dinner with her frens! quite fun lar... sort of like the
best new year day i've ever had for a loong loong loooooooooong time... thanks xin!
so yea... that's about it... sorry no pictures lar... haha... yes, i din bring my camera! ok i know! that was wasted... going to sydney without camera!! well, i did took a picture of the harbour bridge while the bus was going through it lar... but it's still in my handphone and i haven't transfer to computer... so later lar ya?
if u want to see pics of the Big Day In in Sydney, I'll provide the link later lar k? but i dunno if u'll see much of me... hahaha...
oh and
anyone interested in my topic of research, tag or comment or email me k?
that's all lar for my update... till next time...
